FOUNDATION IN DENTAL IMPLANT TREATMENT PLANNING AND SURGERY
COURSE DESCRIPTION: This course is for the clinician who wishes to incorporate the placement of dental implants into their practice. Whether you’re new to placing implants or would like a refresher, this course will help you understand exactly where implants should be placed to make the restorative process easier!
About the Speaker: Dr. Russell A. Baer graduated from the University of Illinois School of Dentistry in 1985 and completed a two-year general practice residency at the University of Chicago. Dr. Baer is a past clinical associate professor at the University of Chicago where he taught implant dentistry in the General Practice Residency and Maxillofacial Prosthodontics program and conducted clinical research in implantology and reconstructive dentistry. This clinical research has included a single-tooth immediate load study. Dr. Baer is an active member of the Academy of Osseointegration and the International Congress of Oral Implantology. He has written numerous articles and lectured both nationally and internationally on implant dentistry. He founded the Chicago Center for Advanced Dentistry in Russia and serves as academic director. The center is the leading training center of oral implantology and advanced dental techniques in the region and has offices in Moscow, Kiev, Vilnius, Almaty and Mumbai, India. Dr. Baer has a private practice in downtown Chicago specializing in implant and reconstructive dentistry.
COURSE OBJECTIVES
1. Be able to confidently apply digital planning using software programs that help to visualize exactly where the implants should be placed.
2. Successfully implement the placement of multiple dental implants on a patient model.
3. Be familiar with the placement of dental implants on patients with subsequent restoration with a temporary crown system to make fast, beautiful temporaries using digital technology.
4. Be able to identify patient medical and physical concerns using treatment planning. Understand which cases are good cases to begin when first placing implants.
