From dental school to retirement, the AGD is the only organization exclusively dedicated to serving the needs of the general dentist. The AGD offers benefits that cater to the changing needs of our members at every stage of their dental career. We advance excellence in general dentistry by providing high quality continuing dental education, representing for the general dentist in government, and building camaraderie and friendship for support.
The AGD takes off the pressure of organizing your CE.
Our Licensing Board Transcript is customized to show the specific requirements you need to renew your license in your state/province.
The AGD offers the only achievement-based awards in general dentistry – the highly regarded Fellowship (FAGD) and Mastership (MAGD) awards.
APEX (Advancing Professional EXcellence) is Minnesota AGD’s FellowTrack and MasterTrack program. It is a continuum of education featuring hands-on participation courses that guide AGD members toward their Fellowship and Mastership Awards (Members and non-members may attend).
APEX FELLOW/MASTERTRACK COURSES:
• May be entered at any time and will fulfill necessary participation requirements
• APEX CE hours may be applied toward the Fellowship Award or Mastership Award.
• Two courses are offered per year, usually in April and October (Fri / Sat).
• Each course will provide 14 hours of participation credits.
• Courses help develop significant relationships and networking.
• Clinical Protocol Assignments are given at the end of each course and are optional.
Document cases in your office, then present them on the Thursday evening prior
to a future course for an additional 18 CE hours (approximately).
We strive to represent and protect the interests of general dentists. Any AGD member can join in the effort.
The Minnesota AGD works closely with the MDA to make sure that interests of General Dentists are kept in mind at the legislature and at the Board of dentistry. The State level is where most of the issues regarding dentistry are deliberated and enacted. We are always interested in input from our member dentists.
Each spring the AGD sponsors a “hands on” lobbying program where issues of a State and National nature are discussed. We have role play training and actual visits to the US Senate and to members of the US Congress. If you have an interest in this training, contact us today.
